Carey Schumacher has been catching magic for families since opening San Diego Barefoot Memories in 2002. Since then, she has emerged as one of the most well-known and saught-after modern family portrait photographers in San Diego, and now in New York City as well.

From professional athletes to celebrities and soccer moms, families come to Carey for something far beyond the frozen smiles of yesteryear's formalized family portraits. Carey Schumacher has traveled internationally as Navy brat, taught college as a mathematics professor, and garnered many awards as a professional photographer, but she will tell you that her favorite roles in life are "wife" and "mom".
