Digital Image Info - why we give them to you

Very few top professional photographers in San Diego offer digital images. Some require a minimum print purchase in order to purchase digital images. Many do not offer digital images at all.

Barefoot Memories offers digital images to our clients for very important, well-considered reasons:

1. We know you want them! We realize that families want access to digital files for web use, emailing, screensavers, iPhoto slideshows, and more.

2. There are very good sources of high-quality digital printing. We recommend uploading your images to Mpix.com and ordering prints at their affordable prices. Mpix's print labs use Kodak pro printers and papers, and their machines are calibrated daily to national color standards. A word of caution: Some local printers (usually drug store and big-box store photo centers) allow the worker-of-the-day to calibrate the colors and tweak settings as he/she sees fit, and you can end up horribly inconsistent print quality. You can also order books, cards, and gifts on Mpix.com, and your order will arrive in a few days, looking fabulous! I use Mpix for my own printing, and every year my own family's Christmas cards are printed by Mpix.

3. Great images create great prints, not the other way around. Barefoot Memories uses professional Canon cameras and lenses, combined with technical knowledge and a finely tuned eye for detail, to create high quality images which cannot be reproduced with consumer-level amateur equipment. Such images will result in high-quality prints when taken to a good printer, so you can get stunning professional prints with the images from your CD.

4. You can print your own prints yourself on Mpix.com, and still order professionally finished enlargements and Fine Art Canvas from your online gallery. When you are creating a showcase of images in your home, we understand that you want the best, so we offer high-quality, professionally finished enlargements and Fine Art Canvas (professional quality, unavailable in the consumer market) from your online gallery.
